Abstract Studio Prompt Series: No. 5 - Commuter Artist

In this series, I will encourage you to explore your everyday surroundings in unexpected ways, allowing you to use your daily life as rich subject matter for your art.

When you are a passenger in a car, train, or bus, record videos facing down to the road as the vehicle moves. When you are back at your computer, use simple editing software like iMovie to zoom in very closely on the videos. Layer the zoomed-in footage, and edit the colors, to create a dreamlike atmosphere that feels familiar and ambiguous at the same time.
