Abstract Studio Prompt Series: No. 8 - Still Life Tribute

Welcome to my series of blog posts demystifying the process of making abstract art. Abstraction doesn’t have to be intimidating or confusing. In this series, I will encourage you to explore your everyday surroundings in unexpected ways, allowing you to use your daily life as rich subject matter for your art.

You could look at the work of Audrey Flack or Roni Horn as a starting point.

Prompt: Think of someone you admire and respect. It could be someone you know, someone from history, or a contemporary public figure. Imagine a snowstorm is coming, and set up a still life of objects you think the person you chose would want to have with them if they were snowed in for the weekend. Draw that still life in a way that somehow illuminates what you admire most about that person.

If you know the person, you can show it to them and share their reaction below.
